Thalassemia OPD Services Commence at PIMS, Jalandhar

On 5 May 2026, the Department of Clinical Haematology, Haemato-Oncology & Bone Marrow (Stem Cell) Transplantation at Christian Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana, launched a dedicated Thalassemia Outpatient Department (OPD) at PIMS, Jalandhar.

This initiative aims to bring specialized thalassemia care closer to patients by providing expert consultations, regular follow-up, disease monitoring, and guidance on comprehensive treatment options, including blood transfusion management, iron chelation therapy, and stem cell transplantation where appropriate.

The launch of this outreach OPD reflects our commitment to improving access to quality haematology services, reducing the burden of travel for patients and families, and ensuring timely, multidisciplinary care for individuals living with thalassemia across the region.
