World Thalassemia Day 2026: Lighting the Way for Awareness and Hope

To commemorate World Thalassemia Day on 8 May 2026, the Department of Clinical Haematology, Haemato-Oncology & Bone Marrow (Stem Cell) Transplantation at Christian Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana, organized a series of awareness initiatives to honour the strength and resilience of individuals living with thalassemia.

As a symbol of solidarity and support, the hospital entrance was illuminated in red, raising awareness about thalassemia and the importance of early diagnosis, comprehensive care, and access to life-saving treatment.

The department also hosted a virtual Zoom session for thalassemia survivors, providing a platform for patients and families to connect, share their journeys, celebrate milestones, and inspire hope within the thalassemia community. The event reinforced our commitment to patient support, awareness, and improving the quality of life for those affected by blood disorders.
